BOOM ! If you are looking for the unicorn cheesesteak, Mama's is the place to go. Great quality meat and perfect cheese blend. The size is gigantic; do not operate heavy machinery after. Paul is a wizard behind the grill, no joke.
This place had the best Philly Cheesesteak! I used to live in Wilmington Delaware and was spoiled growing up. FYI the mini is a whopping pound so if you're not a line backer you may want not want to order the full sized sub.
Great cheesesteak! But don’t sleep on some of the other sandwiches. The cheesesteak had some of the best meat you can find in a cheesesteak; and it had a ton of it. Packed in with good cheese and a sturdy bun to keep everything together. The chicken cacciatore sandwich was even better. Juicy cuts of chicken with fresh vegetables to elevate the taste. A must stop if you’re in the area.
My husband and I had tried to stop at Mama's several times on our trips to Philly to my surgeon but unfortunately they were closed on the days we were here and hours each time until yesterday! We both got a Philly cheese steak Sub! And all we can say is YUM !!!!! DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT!!! The BEST CHEESE STEAK we have tried in Philly! Or ANYWHERE REALLY !!!! I DEFINITELY would say they should be on One of the culinary Shows showcasing their Philly Cheese steaks!!!!

Mama's is my goto for cheesesteaks every time I visit Philly. The steak has great flavor and tons of cheese. The portions are huge. Pepperoni pizza steak ftw.
Delicious cheesesteak! Homemade rolls, chopped melt in your mouth meat and the cheese doesn't overpower the overall taste. Yum!!!
I haven't eaten at Mama's since 1996, 28 years ago when I was doing my residency at Temple. This was always my go to Philly cheesesteak place. I live in California, but I've been craving it for 28 years. I finally made it back, and wanted to show my wife all my old haunts and stomping grounds. Mama's was at the top of my list. We split an original cheesesteak with mushrooms, and let me tell you, it was even better than I remembered. The sandwich was the size of my forearm, and stuffed to the gills with delicious, tender and gooey cheesey goodness. I used to polish an entire original to myself, but nowadays, half is plenty for me. Thank God Mama's is still around after all these years, and I hope it will still be here the next time I set foot in Philly, whenever that may be
